Easily Setup Facebook Connect – webShaper

Facebook is about Engagement

Some clients & prospects check with us whether we have the “new facebook feature” yet, as provided by some of our competitors.

Basically this is what the feature does – when merchant upload new products on the webStore, the products list are updated on the facebook page (wall) too.

Questions is, does it  make sense?

We give it a long & hard thought, It does make sense, if and only if you only upload 1  or 2 products at one time.

What happens if you upload a 10 or more  new products (which is pretty common for most merchants)? so it will become something like this below:

 

 

Now, let’s put yourself in a consumer’s shoes, would you even bother LIKE SUCH FACEBOOK PAGE ?

The answer is obvious, it looks like a spammy product page where people will avoid like a plague, and worse, with only one way communication aka ZERO ENGAGEMENT. The chances of your post appearing on your prospects or consumers wall is pretty dim.

That’s NOT how you are going to make your customer love you more (so they will buy even more !)

Now, let’s take a look just a few perfect examples by our wonderful clients. They shows us what engagement is all about.  Try see how many comments & like they are getting for their facebook wall posting.

 


 

so, the key is Engagement, by selectively hand pick the topic,  content, promo,  or product which will spur interest, get feedback, excite them to participate, is what Facebook does best. and is what every online merchants should be doing.

Today, most people visit facebook to connect with friends, to checkout fren’s photo, to see what their friends or families up too. Very few of them are in the mood or buying stuff, period.  Hardsell on product list just WON”T WORK.

So it’s time to rethink how you market your page and how you plan to reconnect with your fans / clients with heart!

New webShaper features – Freshly released!

1) Stock holding

Normally a stock quantity is deducted ONLY when a you have a payment confirmation on the order (aka status = “processed”). However, some of  the merchants  want to deduct the stock quantity even though payment yet to be received. Thus we introduce Stock Holding Status – Basically it “holds” the stock, while awaiting payment confirmation when the order status is still  “pending“.

 

Enable Stock Holding in webShaper > Settings > Inventory

 

2) Custom Form Fields

(Advanced feature for bizStore only!) – Now you can get more information about your customers as you would like! Eg, if you are selling fashion online, you might want to  know more about your customer’s sizes  (aka BUST, WAIST, HIP), or you probably want to know about their favourite colours or pets too! These are very useful information which you can utilize to offer more relevant deals (thus sell more) or to personalize certain marketing campaign targeting to specific clients only!

Payment Gateways Update

iPay88 merchants will love this, as we will be the first webStore service to roll out the “ipay88 delay callback notification functionality”, so any delayed in bank notification to ipay88, won’t result in payment status not being updated. Additionally, we have added a new payment gateway too call Smoov Pay.

Dear all clients and partners,

Here’s comes the Point System and Client Grouping for webShaper Stores! (bizStore only) See an overview below,  click on the screen-shot to enlarge it!

Point System

Now you can give your eStore visitors  reasons to register an account with you, and more reasons to keep buying from you! As you can see below, you can easily set how many points are awarded whenever

- The visitors register themselves (Turn browsers into clients!)
- The clients submit products reviews (User generated Comment for SEO and higher trust!)
- And of course, whenever they buy from you! 2 point for every $50 spent? You decide!

Rewards your clients when they Signup, Write review or Buy!

How about point redemption?  Here’s how you can easily edit the points for the clients, you can add points, or deduct points whenever a redemption takes place, and you can easily add a remark on each point transaction  ( + / – points) !

Client Grouping

This is yet another most sought-after feature by our successful retailer merchants (we hear you!). As you know, most  retailers  have mainly 2 types of clients:

1) End Consumers – They buy direct and they are “the mass market”.

2) Dealers / Wholesalers / Sales Associates - These are the people who buy in bulk from you, to resell for a profit.

Both are important clients with different pricing scheme.

The idea is dead simple, why don’t let both type of clients order at your own webStore? So you can keep all the clients and orders details at hand, easily accessible via webShaper!  Did I mention that you can let them pay you upfront too via credit card?  Apart from this, another way you can smartly utilize this to encourage repeat purchase (It’s cheaper to keep an existing customer than to find a new one) via grouping the clients into VIP, VVIP  and apply a discount for each group ! Or you can even consider setting up a paid-member program, where clients enjoy a minimum discount for all the merchandises for just $20 a year!

First you create a Client Group  (Call it dealers, premium members, VVIP or whatever!)
and apply a standard discount (% only) on it!.

Once a group is created, easily add or remove  your clients into each client group

Discount can be applied  to Category or Sub-Category level. If no discount value is specified, then the
Standard Discount value (in % only) will be given to all the products in that particular category / subcategory
whenever clients belong to that group login.

Select Drop Down or Text for Quantity Input

Then do you know you can select either  “Drop Down” or “Textbox” for  quantity input  now?

With Textbox Input, now you can  sell small items which customers order in Large Quantity!

Welcoming Sign up Email Template Added

Facebook-Like is IN too!

How about a slightly more indepth social interaction for your clients? You can now easily put in Facebook-like too in the product page! (once enabled, it will automatically show just below the Product Name). To use this, you will need to apply for a Facebook App ID (again, it’s very simple). Once done, just set it active in webShaper > Marketing > Social.

PayPal is easily enabled through webShaper Stores. To get started, complete the simple 3 + 1 steps:

1.    Sign up for a PayPal Premier or Business account – it’s free and takes less than 60 seconds.
2.    Log into PayPal and retrieve your API information: username, password, and signature. You can get your API information by clicking Profile > API Access > View API Certificate.



3.    Log into webShaper > Payment.  Activate either PayPal or PayPal Express Checkout (API is needed only for Express Checkout).


4. Put up the logo and let your customers know you are now taking PayPal (and they can pay via credit card too!)

All done up now!

Why you want to upgrade IE6?

Dear all valued clients, partners and friends,

If you are still browsing the net and runs web application (like webShaper Stores) on Internet Explorer 6, it is really time to upgrade! Here are  TOP 4 reasons why!

1) IE6 has serious CSS bugs (modern sites like webShaper Stores are pretty much CSS-Design Driven), thus it will have problem properly display the webStore layouts causing a mess out of your site.

2) IE6 has security holes and is no longer supported by Microsoft. You might risk yourself getting malware or Trojan injection when surfing some unsuspecting malicious website. Getting your consumer clients who still using IE6 to upgrade is actually doing them a big favor helping them reducing the risk exposing to increasing online threat. See an official excerpt from Microsoft’s site:

When Internet Explorer 6 was launched in 2001, it offered cutting–edge security – for the time. Since then, the Internet has evolved and the security features of Internet Explorer 6 have become outdated.

With the latest state–of–the–art security features, Internet Explorer 8 is designed to cope with today’s modern cyber crime. In fact, research studies prove it.

In a study by NSS Labs, Internet Explorer 8 caught socially engineered malware 85% of the time compared to Firefox 3′s 29%,
Safari 4′s 29% and Chrome’s 17%.

To keep yourself safe,

don’t use an out–of–date browser.

3) Google is no longer supporting IE6, even Microsoft is calling IE6 a 9-years-old milk which you would not want to drink. Asking you to upgrade fast!

4) Some new cool features just wont’ work in IE6. As hard as we try to support as many browsers as we can (for both webShaper control panel and the template design), it is an almost impossible tasks recognizing different browsers runs on different engine, furthermore there’s an issue with backtrack support for old browsers.

In view of the speed Internet advances, it’s no longer practical for us to do backward support for old browsers which ditched by the provider itself (in this case is Microsoft).

We already phase-out all IE6 related support issues. It’s time to move on and retire the buggy browser.
