Get Malaysia Business Online (GMBO) RM1000 Grant for SME!

Do you know that in budget 2013, Malaysian government has announced a RM1,000.00 grant to help SMEs get online? It has allocated RM50 Million fund to help 50,000 micro entrepreneurs with priority given to the women entrepreneurs!

These are the Criteria You have to fulfill for the Grant: 

1) Malaysian aged between 18 to 65 years old, priority given to women entrepreneurs

2) Registered business (sole proprietary, partnership or sdn bhd) or business license with SSM

3) Have a website domain with .com.my/.my/.net.my/.edu.my/.org.my (eg. www.webshaper.com.my) and maintain an active website (like webShaper stores)

4) Subscribed to broadband or a registered member of Pusat Internet 1Malaysia (PI1M)

5) Local Bank Account registered with your name / business name

6) Priority given to microentrepreneur (less than 10 fulltime workers and annual turnover less than RM200,000).

 

Common Q&A (In reference to the official FAQs)

 

Q: What’s the deadline for the grant application?

Starts from 1st January 2013 to 31st December 2013 or as early as the RM50 Million is fully allocated to qualified applicants.

You can start applying online at the official site of SKMM (MCMC). Strictly one application per individual or company.

 

Q: How would the grant being disbursed?

Directly into your registered bank account with your own name or business name.

 

Q: How long would it take for my application to be processed?

Within 30 days.

 

Q: How do i check the status of my application?

Via online at http://gmbo.skmm.gov.my/Public/Check, Just keyin your IC number and Reference No

 

Q: Is there any contract or signed agreement between the successful applicants with SKMM (MCMC)?
No.

Q: Any additional charges to apply for GMBO Grant?
No.

Q: Do I need to report to SKMM on how the fund is being utilized?
No. SKMM (MCMC) will have continuous efforts and methods to trace the effectiveness of the program.

 

Q: If I have a facebook page or blogshop, do I qualify for this grant ?

A facebook page or blogshop will not qualify. You will need to have a website with a domain ended with (.com.my /.net.my/.org.my/.edu.my)  or (.my) to market your business.

How to make your Google Plus Page appears Next to Google Search Results when people search your brand?

If you search for a big brand like “NIKE”, “National Geography” etc, there is a good chance that their Google Plus (G+) page will appear next to the search results shown in Google.

Easily Setup Facebook Connect – webShaper

Dear all clients and partners,

Here’s comes the Point System and Client Grouping for webShaper Stores! (bizStore only) See an overview below,  click on the screen-shot to enlarge it!

Point System

Now you can give your eStore visitors  reasons to register an account with you, and more reasons to keep buying from you! As you can see below, you can easily set how many points are awarded whenever

- The visitors register themselves (Turn browsers into clients!)
- The clients submit products reviews (User generated Comment for SEO and higher trust!)
- And of course, whenever they buy from you! 2 point for every $50 spent? You decide!

Client Grouping

This is yet another most sought-after feature by our successful retailer merchants (we hear you!). As you know, most  retailers  have mainly 2 types of clients:

1) End Consumers – They buy direct and they are “the mass market”.

2) Dealers / Wholesalers / Sales Associates - These are the people who buy in bulk from you, to resell for a profit.

Both are important clients with different pricing scheme.

The idea is dead simple, why don’t let both type of clients order at your own webStore? So you can keep all the clients and orders details at hand, easily accessible via webShaper!  Did I mention that you can let them pay you upfront too via credit card?  Apart from this, another way you can smartly utilize this to encourage repeat purchase (It’s cheaper to keep an existing customer than to find a new one) via grouping the clients into VIP, VVIP  and apply a discount for each group ! First you create a Client Group  (Call it dealers, premium members, VVIP or whatever!)
and apply a standard discount (% only) on it!.

Once a group is created, easily add or remove  your clients into each client group

Discount can be applied  to Category or Sub-Category level. If no discount value is specified, then the
Standard Discount value (in % only) will be given to all the products in that particular category / subcategory
whenever clients belong to that group login.

Then do you know you can select either  ”Drop Down” or “Textbox” for  quantity input  now?

With Textbox Input, now you can  sell small items which customers order in Large Quantity!

Facebook-Like is IN too!

(once enabled, it will automatically show just below the Product Name). To use this, you will need to apply for a Facebook App ID (again, it’s very simple). Once done, just set it active in webShaper > Marketing > Social.

Once anyone click on Like, Facebook will ask prompt for a comment also !

So if anyone comment on it,  this will show up in his / her Facebook wall.
